Dual Course of Study in Electronics Engineering / Mechatronics / Computer Engineering
In cooperation with the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences, BST eltromat offers majors in the areas of Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, and Computer Engineering. In these dual study programs, higher education and career training takes place at the same time.
Structure of a Dual Course of Study
The basic principle behind dual (cooperative) courses of study is as follows: Students attend classes in their respective majors four days a week. They work at the cooperating company on the fifth day of the week and during breaks. A training contract is also signed, which leads to a trade proficiency or journeyman’s certificate. Over the course of the degree program, the students are increasingly involved in projects in the company.
Requirements: General higher education entrance qualification, Abitur [German advanced secondary school leaving certificate], or similar
Training sites for the BST eltromat dual course of study: Leopoldshöhe and Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences

Dual Course of Study: Your Benefits
A dual course of study according to the Lippe model has two special benefits:
1. With the introduction of the bachelor’s degree, the standard period of study in the dual course of study is only six semesters (plus one year of specialist or journeyman training up front in the business), so it is not longer than a conventional bachelor’s degree program at a university of applied sciences.
2. Students in this program study together with fellow students that are completing their studies without the professional experience component.
